Sphere Related Content Available Through Feedburner FeedFlare

Since launching our Sphere Related Content widget, we’ve had a ton of requests from bloggers who would like to try it out. Last week, we introduced a WordPress.org Plug-in and it seems to be very popular with the WordPress crowd.
In order to make the Sphere Related Content widget available to the maximum number of bloggers, we’ve been working on a very simple solution that makes it available as a FeedBurner FeedFlare. Last night, we finished it and have been testing it out on a few blogs today. Seems to work just fine so we want to open it up to anybody with a MoveableType, Blogger, TypePad blog or anywhere else FeedFlare works.
We’d love to get your feedback on it. It shouldn’t take you more than a minute or two to add to your existing FeedFlares:
1) Log into your FeedBurner account
2) Select your feed, go to the Optimize tab and select FeedFlare on the left
3) In the “Add New Flare” box, enter this URL and click “Add New Flare”:
http://www.sphere.com/partner/feedburner/sphereit_feedflare.xml
4) This will add a flare called “Sphere Related Content” to your Personal Flares. Enable this flare for your site ONLY by selecting the 2nd check-box, it doesn’t work in feed readers, only in a site
5) Save your settings. If you already have FeedFlares in your blog, you’re all set. If this is your first FeedFlare, click on the dropdown to get the code for your platform, the instructions for each platform are very easy to follow.
That’s it, the new flare should start showing up next to your other ones within a few minutes. It takes FeedBurner a few minutes to process the new flare and to request content from Sphere for your links.
6) In Movable Type, if you have modified your templates, you can, as an optional step, add <!–sphereit start–> … <!–sphereit end–> markers around the body text of your posts in your permanlink pages. This will help us with the text extraction from your blog and can improve the quality of the results, but it’s not required.
In Movable Type (advanced templates), the body text tag is <$MTEntryBody$>, so these tags would go around that as follows:
<!–sphereit start–>
<$MTEntryBody$>
<!–sphereit end–>
Please let us know if you have any problems getting this flare running — we’re very excited about this one, it’s a very simple way for bloggers and authors on many different platforms to finally get Sphere’d ![]()

A great view of the democratic party.
this website is wonderful and very recourses tool for a blogger.
Heres a great view of the presidential race it hase both political parties plus all your candidates and profiles on one great place.
For MovableType installations, it may also be useful to put the sphereit tags around the $MTEntryMore$ tag, such as:
[!–sphereit start–]
[$MTEntryMore$]
[!–sphereit end–]
… only with the appropriate HTML tags as opposed to the brackets. This covers those people who use the whole “Extended Entry” feature MovableType has, for when you only want to show part of your post on the weblog’s main page, or something like that. Just a thought.

Using blogger and following directions but not working no error msg just not showing
I must be reading this in Chinese or something because none of this makes a lick of sense.
Thanks for releasing this great tool. I can’t wait to get it on my blog.
I think I got it but just gotta add the logo instead of the words “Sphere This”
Thanks Guys
Still working on that logo thing. Any tips guys?
Got the sphere link added, but would like to see logo instead of words–sphere related content”.
Looking forward to this upgrade.
I’m also a blogger, and I’m having trouble getting the “Sphere This” link to show. It shows up on my older posts, but nothing for the last three days. Also would like the logo. I’ve seen it on other sites, ones that (I thought) used Blogger. Any advice on getting the link and/or logo to appear on newer posts? Thanks!
Feedburrner feed flare isn’t working on Blogger, I finally dumped it, If you want sphere on Bloggers, you need a different develivery method.

The blogger solution did not work for me. Lord knows I tried. Sorry Sphere. Your service doesn’t seem to have any trouble finding my blog because I saw it cited on the WSJ this morning. I’d love to have your code widget on my site. Please work on a better solution. Thanks.
Here’s the textpattern version of sphereIt:

This widget is really helpful, I hope I can install it in my blog as soon as possible.
I added the code to my blog but nothing is showing up.
can this be made for the joomla cms?
Hi, we’d love to have a Sphere Related Content plugin running on Joomla. The community has already contributed plugins for TextPattern and bbPress (http://www.sphere.com/community_tools). I’d be more than happy to work with you to give you the info you need to write one for Joomla. Please email me at martin at sphere dot com.
great tool — can give hard time to blogger search and technocrat1 !
Plugin through Feedburner FeedFlare is working without any problem.
The Blogger solution works fine! It took a few minutes and maybe a few ‘F5’s though, before it showed up. Perhaps some people didn’t realize that. I re-installed the code 2 or 3 times and then I gave up. But when I logged in to blogger again, about 10 minutes later, there it was!
It’s not working on my Typepad blog either, although I’ve followed all the steps.
i posted the widget to my blogger blog yesterday. the widget is still not there. it looks very interesting, but it does not work on my blog.
can you please let know what can i do to make it work?
tnx, o.
For the bear, his cub and their den.
The widget will not show up until the Bot hits your site. You may have to wait as long as 24 hours.
This works great. Thanks. My readers seem to really like it too.
This is very cool for blogger : )
